How does the combat cadet competition work?

I went on this camp who else saw all the military planes flying over

This has been my most unanswered question. What do you get issued for annual camp? Do you get Bergens, mess tins, bottles and KFS or do you have to buy it yourself? Please help.

I was on this camp xD, I would recommend it to anyone who considers it. Its a god sent week of fun that you should all do!

so when teaching still at arms lessons where you taught that it is safe place to stand in front cadets when doing drills??

Joining next spring and can't wait! Not sure, as a girl with no family or friends in the army or acf, why I'm into all of this?

Acf study more army and we do more feildcraft shooting and stuff like that were as the air cadets do more air related activities but which ever armed (youth) force you join u will really love it

were going to this for the next to years lothian and borders army cadets hopfully have my 2 str by then

@TheBaverz Cambs ACF would like to stress that Cadets will never fire a live Javelin. They are shown to Cadets for the purpose of interest lessons to show the type of weapons Soldiers are using conflicts. Some senior Cadets have had the opportunity to use a Javelin connected to a computer that can simulate the use of the weapon.

@CambsACF Haha was about to say, those Javelin rockets cost about £60,000 a piece :)

@MrMaxydoodle The regular soldiers who helped on the ranges brought weapons that they use with them. Cadets got lessons and hands on with a wide variety from sniper rifles to the Javelin; however these weapons were not fired by Cadets or Instructors.

yas i went to barry in 2009 with the royal reg of scotland annual camp

I was in that parade, I'm seacadets what an amazing expirience. Ot shows that some youth so care and don't just hang around the streets doing nothing they inrole in a youth organisation and respect and celebrate that x we did all the corps proud that day x

As long as you are enrolled, have a uniform and are basic training then you can take part on the Basic Cadre. You need to speak to your Detachment Commander to find out if you will be able to get a place.

@astelfox1 Ex. Rolling Thunder, is a competition for the whole ACF, regardless of cap badge :)

Would just like to say that Blandford cadets won this and two other rolling thunder competitions in a row and will now be the first and last detachments to do so as they have changed the rules that if you win twice in a row the next year you can't enter, also Dorset ACF Cadet RSM Henderson will be the only cadet who has won the competition three times in a row due to this rule :)

@PunchyNelloFello You will make many new friends, not just from your detachment but all over London. Some of the friends you make in the Army Cadets may even become friends for life. On a parade night you will learn many new things including Drill, Turnout, Military knowledge, Map and Compass, Fieldcraft, First Aid and much more besides. You will learn new life skills, teamwork and leadership but above all you will have fun!
